I thought this book was a lot better than the first reviewer wrote. It's like a teenage Devil's Arithmetic, but the story of Chana in Poland is excellent. You learn a lot about the Lodz ghetto, where so many lived before being sent to a concentration camp. Hillary is so hateful before the accident, she's like the Nazi guards who committed atrocities. Walking in Chana's shoes makes her understand the consequences of hatred. If you are looking for a good Holocaust-related novel for teenagers, I recommend this one.
